This made our day....did an online order which was delivered yesterday, packed it all away and then this morning while I was chatting with a neighbor,my hubby came over holding 1 piece of savoury luncheon...'Uh,honey,what is this?..I had inadvertantly clicked the wrong quantity and instead of 300 gm I put in 3!!! so the lovely packers at Countdown Lynnmall very kindly send me just the 1 piece!! My neighbor started laughing which set both me and hubby off as well...Have nothing but great praise for the gang at Lynnmall, they are wonderful and being housebound as ill, the service has been excellent and I couldn't do without them. Thank you guys for being so helpful and actually sending me what I ordered ...snigger snigger!!! Vonne Hunt

I would like CountDown to explain to me how overnight a tray of 20 Eggs can go up by $6.
On Friday 27/01/2023 i went to Countdown The Palms in Shirley Christchurch. I purchased a tray of 20 eggs for $9.50.. On Saturday i went back into the same store to purchase some vegetables. I went to have a look at the egg shelf to see what was available and couldn't believe what i was looking at. The same eggs i had purchased the previous night for $9.50 were now selling for $15 a tray. What sort of explanation does Does Countdown have for this.?? Also Countdown for many months sold Maggi Noodles in a Pot for .70 cents each. About 6 weeks ago i went to buy some more and nearly fell over backwards when i saw the price had been put up to $2 each.?? On Friday night i checked the price of these again, and they had gone up to $2.50 each. Why.?? Nothing has changed about these. There is no new additives or anything been done to these Noodles so why the massive price increase. Why are Supermarkets etc taking advantage of the current World Crisis that is happening and shafting the people that they rely on to keep their business afloat.
I would have chosen no stars if this was an option as my online shopping experience has been so underwhelming.
I placed an online shopping order at what the website indicated was the Silverdale store, only to later discover these are all dispatched from the smaller Orewa store. I orderd 2.2 kg of pork shoulder and received 2 small pieces of about 1kg each. I later learned Orewa store doesn't have a butchery department to be able to cut me the size piece I wanted. I ordered a 4l of Persil laundry liquid and 2 small pkts of mince and received nothing as apparently out of stock. When I asked if I could have the laundry liquid delivered in 2 x 2L or 4 x 1L I was told no because I hadn't ticked the box for subsititutes, and yet this is essentially the same product and the same volume just different sized packaging. I had to then take a 30 min drive each way to buy these products from the Silverdale store who had large stock so no shortage there, but cost my 1.5 hrs of my time. I then discover that other items (cornflakes, yoghurt ) which I was charged for had not been delivered. I ask if I can have this delivered with the replacement piece of pork but am told would have to be a separate delivery time. In the end I don't even end up with the correct pork order as 2 days later (the day of anticipated delivery) I learn that there is no butchery and so essentially they were going to deliver me the same thing again ie. in 2 pieces.
I had a phone call from the online store manager who had a hostile tone from the moment she greeted me and all she could tell me was that I should have ticked the "substitutes" box and what they are not allowed to do. In my opinion she was rude and disinterested in solving my problem. I chose to do online shopping because I am time poor but it has been a complete circus. If the website says I'm shopping at Countdown Silverdale it is not unrealistic for me to assume that is the supermarket supplying my goods. I placed an order on Wed morning for Fri delivery, at no time did anyone communicate with me that several of my items were going to be missing or not what I ordered. Countdown had plenty of time to source these items from the Silverdale store if needed, or earmark them for me on Wednesday when I ordered them. It's all very well offering people refunds, but sometimes money is not the only factor, it's the time and inconvenience. I am going to give countdown management one last chance to sort this out for me in a professional customer focused way, otherwise I will take my custom elsewhere. If anyone cares enough to look into it my order number was (Order: CD28837035) but based on my experience to date, I won't be holding my breath.
I am a customer and a rep/merchandiser for the countdowns in palmerston north. The new Manager of kelvin grove store never opens his mouth to workers who come into store to merchandise/rep comes off very arrogant.I said hi twice then gave up on the guy as all he does is look or grunt at you as he cant be bothered. Not a good look is it and it shows how badly merch/reps are treated in your stores as you do not seem to train your managers up to go out there way to get to know regular workers who come in and spend hours in the store.I brought this up elsewhere but got no action so appears you condone it
What a absolute unprofessional service , When I rang 45 minutes ago I was 4th in the Que. but still No one to talk to !!! I have been trying to get a home delivery now for the 3rd week to be told my order has to come from Whangarei Countdown when I live only 12 minutes from my local store .Finally I got to speak to customer service person . Stating unfortantly yes your order will have to come from Whangarei .What a totally unprofessional service possibly they need to learn there geography as to closes Countdown store to long term customer over 25 years shopping at local store .
Online shopping and I am 49 th in the que. Have been waiting for a half hour and now I am only 21 in the Que. This is poor management and terrible customer service. Who is managing the Countdown online shopping dept. ? They need to be replaced with someone who is efficient and professional.
C/out staff are very rude at Roselands Countdown. Just ignore the customers. Wouldn't serve me yesterday at .5.20/5.30, 3 c/outs open busy, 3rd one was the I went to, the Indian lady not in uniform said i am finished.! No sorry no even I'll put your purchases through! Deli a spoonful of 3 salads! Come on can somebody please take ownership!
First time experience with Countdown online shopping due to having Covid the worst experience ever!! Should have gone to New World.. but selected Countdown as they around the corner from my house. Was charged for rolls I never received, the strawberry were old and the bags were broken… just overall a very bad first experience!! Countdown your online service suck! Thank you for Taromi and Ana in the customer support team refunded me!
BreedersCelect 20L cat litter has gone up SEVEN DOLLARS AND FIFTY ONE CENTS from last week.
That's a 42% increase IN SEVEN DAYS.
That is just the latest in an endless grotesquerie of egregious grocery price hikes.
I am done with your company.
Countdown has posted record profits in the last four quarters.
Do you take us for fools?
I don't expect the public will put up with this for much longer.
